The Research and Innovation Network for Precision Agriculture Systems (RINPAS) is a leading advocate and source of expertise in Precision Agriculture Research Development and Extension (PA RD&E) across Australasia. Through its endeavours, RINPAS aims to establish a more collaborative and integrated approach to Precision Agriculture RD&E.
To provide the Australasian agricultural sector with an innovative pathway to a profitable, productive and resilient farming sector through the adoption of Precision Agriculture.
RINPAS originated as a collaboration between seven Australian Universities and was previously known as the National University Network for Precision Agriculture Systems (NUNPAS). However in April 2015, NUNPAS became RINPAS and opened membership to Industry and Government stakeholders. Since then RINPAS has grown to include twenty one university and industry organisations across Australia.
What We Do
RINPAS brings together considerable capabilities in agricultural sciences, sensor development, robotics, communication, data management and decision making tools to support Precision Agriculture. This, combined with our expertise in systems design and planning, enables us to develop holistic solutions that can be integrated into on-farm systems.
RINPAS possesses significant experience in PA extension, adoption and education that assists the transition of farm enterprises to new endeavours, whilst simultaneously improving profitability and sustainability. RINPAS has become a Virtual Growth Centre through its engagement with universities and industry. RINPAS is well positioned to respond to funding opportunities such as a Rural Fund for Profit bids and a CRC bid.
